Travel, targets, milestones
Yesterday, while working for the thesis, I found a poem that prof. Revolver reported as a wish to himself and everyone.
It's "Ithaca" by Constantinos Kavakis. The course in Multimedia Editing began with the metaphor of walking through the woods yesterday and when I read these lines I could not help but smile.
It seems to me a wonderful hope, with joy that I collect and share with all those who stood on the road, with those about to cross the finish line and how many are transforming the tragurdo in simple step.
I hope your road is long.
that many summer mornings,
the pleasure of seeing the first ports
you must make a joy than ever.
Try to visit the stores of Phoenicia
and pick what is best.
Go to the cities of Egypt,
learning from a people that has much to teach.
not lose sight of Ithaca,
get there because it is your destiny.
But do not rush your steps;
is better than your journey lasting many years
and your ship dropped anchor on the island once you
of enriched what did you find the path.
Do not expect Ithaka to give you more riches.
Ithaca has already made a nice trip;
without Ithaca you would never have started.
It has already given you everything, and nothing else can give you.
Finally, if you find that Ithaca is poor,
not think that you have deceived.
Why did you become wise, you have lived a full life
and this is the meaning of Ithaca.
(from "Ithaca" by Constantinos Cavafy)
